Radius

Blade Profile can be like a radius (radius profiling) or there can be a on flat surface (gliding surface) in blade. When profiling blades it is recommended to do it with an special made profiling machine. Profiling with freehand is very difficult and the risk to damage the blade is high. Blade profiling should be done individually for each player. Blade shape fades away in time when blades are sharpened. Blades should be re-profiled once or twice a season or every time when original profile is gone or changed. It depends how often and how blades are sharpened.

Length

The surface area of friction can be modified by re-profiling or adjusting radius, but some players, who are unsatisfied with that common blades, use longer blades that the length of a blade toe and heel is extended. That is based on the same principle as the blades for short and long track skates. Common blades, typically, are little bit shorter than the length of same-sized holders.

Height

The taller the blade height, the more it can lay on its’ side. This is beneficial in the case of goalie skates where the taller blades allow goalies to do faster butterfly slide pushes and allowing the skates to hardly touch the ice, even if tilting the blades to the side is less common in normal blades. However, as the blade height gets taller, the center of gravity of the body will have to be changed.

Thickness

MASSIVE Standard Thickness (skater) : 2.8, 2.9㎜
MASSIVE Standard Thickness (goalie) : 2.9, 3.9㎜

Why MASSIVE BLADE?

When you have a knicks on your blade, you will be fall down when you turn or trying to stop. BUT, on the MASSIVE hardly feel knicks.
it’s tougher and harder steel. your knick shape looks like more rounder. Without any coating, this steel helps your grind on the ice.
Our manufacturing technology takes you next level of hockey.

Why we do Vacuum Heat Treatment?

The air we breathe contains a number of elements that can react with metals under the proper conditions. Moisture, oxygen, carbon dioxide and hydrogen are present in significant amounts in our atmosphere. Each can react to varying degrees with many different metals. While many of these reactions occur to only a small extent at room temperature, they are often greatly accelerated in the presence of heat. Consider the example of a piece of polished metal held over a heat source. It will eventually turn blue or black as the elements in the atmosphere react with the hot metal. We try to minimize the extent of these reactions during heat treating. The reactions cause changes in the surface properties of the metal that may result in a heat treated component with a surface(edge) that is much harder than the rest of the component. To minimize these undesirable reactions, the source of the reactive elements, air, must be eliminated from the heat treating environment.

BENEFITS OF VACUUM HEAT TREATMENT

No surface oxidation or discoloration
Minimal part distortion
No post cleaning operations
Near finished, machined shape prior to treatment
